Newly released footage of mentally handicapped homeless man Kelly Thomas being beaten and murdered by Fullerton, California police. The altercation begins at 15:20.

Ramos, 38, a 10-year veteran on the Fullerton force, was charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter in connection with Thomas’ death and faces a maximum penalty of 15 years to life in prison if found guilty.

Cicinelli, 40, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and use of excessive force. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted.

Both pleaded not guilty.

We live in a fantasy world, a world where we mow our lawns and watch tv and maybe organize a bake sale at the local school. The real world, though, is a world where people fall through the cracks, where there is no safety net, where police officers can beat an unarmed man to death. 

This is sickening to watch. It’s real. 

I just don’t know anymore…
